OBSERVATIONS / SUGGESTIONS / RECOMMENDATIONS: It is obvious that some students have difficulty in the subject because of language problem. These students have difficulty understanding English much more in expressing themselves in English. They are therefore unable to follow the discussions nor follow the instructions in the practical activities despite these being explained in detail. For these students’ performance to improve, their difficulty with the English language need to be addressed first.
The really weak students in F2C, especially the repeaters are beyond help because they simply refuse to learn science. These students come in and out of the classroom with the idea that they can pass F2 without passing science, i.e. by concentrating on the subjects that are easy for them. These students tend to be uncooperative in class and could not be motivated to do the requirements of the subject. |
